This has to be the prettiest Birchbox package so far!
This month’s Birchbox contains the following:
– Benefit’s ‘BADgal Lashes’ mascara
– eyeliner by Cynthis Rowley
– tinted ‘wonder eye cream’ by Balance Me
– Hydro Nutritive shampoo and conditioner by Beaver Professional and
– foot cream by Kueshi
I’m a massive fan of Benefit and I have to admit that 90% of the contents in my daily make up bag is by Benefit because their products just work! The BADgal lashes is one product that I haven’t yet tried (I usually wear They’re Real) and already I’m impressed. I don’t love it quite as much as They’re Real but it’s definitely the next best thing! The colour is so deep and it has a really great lengthening effect. Despite the chunky brush it’s actually really easy to handle.
I’ve actually used the Balance Me eye cream before as it came free with Glamour magazine last month. I have to say that I really didn’t like it then and I still don’t like it now. I hate writing negative reviews but I really didn’t enjoy using this product. I found that the ‘tint’ was way too dark for my skin tone and the smell really wasn’t pleasant!
The product claims to be an 8-hour cream that eliminates puffiness and dark circles but for me, I didn’t notice any difference!
I’ve owned Cynthia Rowley dresses before but I had no idea she also has a make up range! I used to use a ton of eyeliner and always had a pencil in my blazer pocket when I was at school. Nowadays though, I very rarely use it because it usually ends very badly (panda eyes!). The great thing about this one though is that it’s smudge proof and long-lasting. The application is so smooth and not at all sharp or rough like other eyeliner pencils I’ve used in the past. The pigmentation is also really strong, which is great for that dark smokey eyed look!
This shampoo is lovely and smells absolutely beautiful! It’s really nourishing and made my hair feel so silky smooth. Apparently it’s made with avocado oil and aloe vera! I haven’t tried the conditioner yet, but if the shampoo’s anything to go by then I’m in for a treat!
I very rarely use foot creams and so this felt alien on my feet at first. I’m still unsure as to whether or not I actually like the scent (Tea Tree) but it’s very zingy – almost minty – and invigorating, with tea tree oil, royal jelly and almond oil!
