I’ll be honest, while I’m a huge fan of Zoe Sugg, aka Zoella’s YouTube channel(s) until yesterday I had never actually watched any of Tanya Burr’s videos! I was walking around Superdrug yesterday evening and noticed a great promotion in-store; buy the new Colgate Optic toothpaste and get a Tanya Burr nail varnish completely free!! It seems a bit strange to get a free nail varnish with a toothpaste, but I’m always up for a bargain, so I picked it up and took it to the till.
I picked the shade ‘Be Bright, Be Happy, Be You’ which is a gorgeous, almost neon in certain light, fuchsia pink colour. I love the choice of names that Tanya has chosen for her products. She’s named her products things like ‘Afternoon Tea’, ‘Little Duck’ and ‘Midnight Sparkles’, which I think are really cute.
I was super impressed by the texture of the varnish as it was really smooth, with a great pigment. I always get really annoyed when I buy a pretty nail varnish that requires about 6 layers before the colour starts to actually look like the bottle. I can happily say that this is not the case with this nail varnish – I only applied 2 layers and it looks perfect.
The other great thing I noticed was that it dries really quickly. Recently I’ve been buying Rimmel nail varnishes because of their speedy 60 second dry time, so was a little worried that this might take forever and smudge everywhere, but once again, I was proven wrong! Dare I say it, I think it might even be better than Rimmel?!?!
In my opinion it’s a little bit pricey at £5.99 per bottle, but if you look out for promotions (Superdrug often run 3 for 2 offers) or you scout online on other websites like nailpolish.co.uk, Amazon or eBay, then you might be able to find a bargain.
Such a gorgeous colour! I've been watching Tanya's videos for a looong time now and she's obviously been talking so much about her products, but I've never bought one even though I would love to try it. And I totally agree with you – the names for the products are so cute!
